Someone made a quote in reference to one of Frost's verses and it says "East Los Aztlan". I wonder if that was ELA or ES AZTLAN.

i believe they might simply be refering to AZTLAN as the Chicano promised land, not as a gang per say

and of course - EAST LOS - as the area; Mecca of most Chicanos 8)

that kid from Silver-Lake is a really good rapper too... Kriminal

damn...I checked on you-tube and most of Slow Pain's hardest /best songs are not on there

here's a decent rola

here's one more of my favorite rolas from Slow Pain

Hoodz Hot

at the end you cant hear it, but it says "... from Indiana Dukes to The Big LOTT!!"

if anyone can provide a link to either song, that would be firme /cool.

I would assume so, but I'm not in contact with anyone in that area anymore so I can't say for sure. I know CF was at least somewhat active there in a community called Glen Avon and some in Mira Loma until about 2009, after that, I got no idea.

i bump the shit outta the "Raiders for life" cd

he took a some real hood shit outta put on his rolas "Big Things" and "Hoodz Hot"

and honestly - some (not all) Chicanos rappers seem like they try to hard to come across hard

Slow Pain comes off more natural, smooth flows and he has the best beats, bar none, of any Chicano rapper that ive personally ever heard

ok

first let me say this:

as Chicanos we never support - in general - our own rappers, artists, actors ect - myslef included

We are the biggest haters of each

We critisize the fuck outta each other

thats why George Lopez uses it in his comedy, hating on other Chicanos is our favorite past time (unfortunately)

Other Chicanos are never good enough

we always find faults and say, "nah, he aint about shit" .... and thats why "estamos como estamos" :x

anyways - let me get off my soapbox...

but i think it was just that ... a rumor.

Everyone was all pumped up when that rola - this is for Raza

but then, typical of us Chicanos, all the hating began, he wasnt hard enough, he was this and wasnt that...

and its the same old song with us

23 years later, we're still waiting for the one Hard enough, cool enough, down enough Chicano to represent us ...

and we dont support our Raza

This could be said by a "Brotha" anyway.

I understand what you're saying and agree with you for the most part, but when it comes to chicano rap you gotta be honest and call it like you see it. Kid Frost was the best and most original, Slow pain is #2.(even though I think he fuck'n sucks)

As a whole Chicano rap SUCKS.(I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings but that's the truth) At it's best Chicano rap is in the minor leagues. Originality is a must and that's the #1 thing Chicano rap is lacking.

been disappointed with the sur rap ive heard, dunno why its so lame, kid frost 'la raza' is one of my favourite hip hop tunes ever, the whole album is good...cypress hill (ok not surenos) were the nuts as well...still having said that most rap nowadays is lame irrespective of the colour or background of who made it...

i think chicano sur rap is following west coast gangsta rap weither u like it or not me personnally i prefer soul musik but when it comes to rap i kinna pro west ..its tru most of them surenos rappers are wack but still u have good and wack everywere very few are very good but still there is anyway ... after 94 they was the only one still keepin g funk alive!!!! also the doo wap style of rap on oldies that turn on 3 time like valse ...only vatos woulod blast those ..like lil rob do is very creativ and very chicano and i love things like that .. i prefer underground things from real g on the blocc if u ask me whats my favorite rappers i would say names you never heard of ..now checc this out they rap on three time beats and thats inovativ in the rap game ma props to chicano rap for keeping oldies alive

so its creative inovativ and melow its not main stream because they dont fit the stereotype of illunatied industrie tryin to make us think one way ...there is very good chicano rap you like it or not thats another debate

Whats the relationship between Slow Pain and the Lott? I am guilty of hating on my own race. I actuallly personally know alot of semi famous Chicano acts and I still hate on them..Thats why I hate, I got evidence. The fool from Cuatro We have already proven he has never even stepped in Pico Gardens yet he claims BHTS in a few of his rhymes, I knew sicc2sicc when they were lil tweakers claiming Monte Hicks hiding from Blackwood st and West Covina13. The projects that they claim along with lil yogi was like a mix of different fools. As a matter of fact they were all a crew, some Hicks, some Bloods and they all looked up to me and another older dude from Kithchen Crip cause we were older. Now they are spittin all this murder nonsense, Im pretty sure they have no idea about gun play. Chino Grande I used to see him around Whittier once in awhile but I never heard of no work by him and I know alot of those W13 dudes. Midget Loco well obviously I know him very well and Ill just say he is known for his rhymes AND THATS IT! I dont like what the new Chicano rappers represent, they try way too hard. Frost, Slow Pain and even lil Rob come off as Chicanos speaking on the life, these other fools are just spitting lies on how bad they are. I put some people on blast but its all factual personl knowledge.

Most of these dudes are wack anyways, with weak ass rhymes and no originality to their sound what so ever. Conejo is one of the few that puts together some good records, and there may be a few others, but it's all subjective of course.

I think there is/are pretty good chicano rap/rappers out there, when you narrow it down to chicano gang members, thats a whole different ball game.
Most of those suck, i agree with that.

I have to admit though, i liked a few songs by Mr. Shadow.

my homeboy Bogart (r.i.p) LOTT 13 Dukes used to finance him, so slow pain gots love for the quite a few homies

in that big things rola, he starts off, "Yo Bogart ...caile... we doing big things from the block to THE LOTT" 8)

current black rap is the same today... talking about killing shit and murders and that couldnt be further from the truth

lets keep it 100 - rappers are entertainers ... not killers.

If they were real killers, they'd most likely be stretched out in the pinta w the real killers

We have to keep a perspective that these vatos are too be taken w a grain salty

lemme put it like this:

Im a Rock n Roll Gangster

I bump the shit outta Black Sabbath, ... but aint no fuck'n way I'm looking to Ozzy as any sort of role model or someone who I should imitate or even up look up too. I enjoy his music... thats it and thats all!

The difference between Black and Chicano shit talking is the Black rappers talk alot of shit, Raza be calling out Varrios and names, talking bout posting in the hood and what not. Not to mention its blsck music, they do it better, when we try it sounds cheesy and a poor attempt at emulating another culture. My friend Midget wont even talk about his rap shit in front of me cause he knows I'll get on my soap box and start preaching...lol
