One thing is "FOR SURE", and that's we(black folk) "LIVING" what we talking about on this site everyday. No sane person could argue that slavery was the best thing that happened to my people,or any people for that matter.Common sense is obviously mentally ill.

^^^^^^^I agree with you but you have to think realistically. Sure slavery was a horrible thing but i don't think we'll ever recieve a dime from the government just because of slavery. I think the damage done to black people goes beyond slavery in the physical form. Look at what we had to go through after slavery. Our communities were bombed, our leaders were assassinated etc. just for standing up for civil rights. After all we've gone through, we're still suffering. I think if we do recieve reperations, there will have to be a better reason for them, not just slavery. I mean, slavery still exists in some parts of the world(including africa), so should everyone who's a decendant of a slave get reperations?
