The Spirit

SUCKED. Horrible movie, horrible acting. Ridiculous and unbelievable overacting. And Samuel L. Jackson was a major character - he is the master of making ridiculous overacting look good - and the characters/plots still ended up being idiotic. They actually had a scene where they were fighting in mud/gunk and he's somehow the only one covered in tar-like shit, wearing a poor southern getup and looking wild-eyed - too much! Even Eva Mendes - whose only role is really looking good - ends up being directed poorly. I don't know wtf happened because Frank Miller is supposed to understand the comic and he made Sin City good.

This is how bad the movie is - Eva Mendes gets @ss naked in a scene and it's still not worth watching the movie - you can probably find clips of that 4 seconds online.

It's really a shame considering how awesome that movie SHOULD have been. I mean come on - early 20th century style with fedora hats and suits, a gritty, grimy city with a cool, indestructible hero that saves the day because he loves his city. How can that NOT be a cool movie? One critic said "Eisner is spinning in his grave" and it's true. Miller didn't even have to try hard, he already had an awesome gritty city feel going in "Sin City" - how they messed this movie up is nothing short of astonishing. The preview for the movie was the only thing cool about it.
