Oh Please! all who was just a teen comin up when that flic broke, tripped over theyselves, fallin in love with the actors, n wearing hoodies on they headz for at least the next 2 years! Am I right? That with 'Mama said knock you out', came hoodiez-r-us style 24-7.. n if i remember correctly, that's also about when every lil 14 year old started ta jack 7-11z like mo-fo's just as passtime 4 a broken wallet. i'm willing ta bet that convenience store n gas station stickups doubled on the Upper East coast in the five years followin that movie? Coincidence? Of course. But let me ask you this, does media, film, musik, imitate life, or influence it.
We all have our own, complicated answers to this debate..fo sho'
so what do ya think about the level of censorship on yer tv? Ya know in Europe (so i heard), nudity can b seen on the screen primetime. Here it's not quite the same, but violence yes, full-on. N what about Mexico n latin america, where the news shows ALL the gory details of bodies in the streets. How do you think this affects the youth who are absorbin it all, and what do you think would be the best way ta negotiate violence and sexuality, in the public viewer's hands?
