Cross Atlantic Pirus (Eastside Compton / Lynwood)
Cross Atlantic Pirus [CAP] are a predominately African-American street gang located in the border area of the cities of Lynwood and Compton. Early history of Cross Atlantic had more members residing in Lynwood, but later generations of Cross Atlantic Pirus had more members residing in Compton.
Original members lean towards Lynwood, middle generations represent both Lynwood and Compton, and the newest generation (post 2000) mostly represent the City of Compton.
The CAPs are part of the Eastside Piru family that includes Elm Street Piru, Lime Hood Piru, MOB Piru, Holly Hood Piru and original Eastside Piru set, Lueders Park Piru.
Unfortunately, since the very early 2000s, maybe 2002 to 2004, the Eastside Piru family has broken up, with rivalries surfacing among the MOB Piru, Cross Atlantic Pirus and Lueders Park Pirus.
The CAP are located east of Atlantic Blvd between Rosecrans (s) and the 105 Freeway.
Rapper Big Tupp from Cross Atlantic Piru appeared on Mitchy Slick’s 2008 song, “Won’t Stop Being a Blood” among other songs. Frank “FG” Thornton, from CAP appeared on a Street TV interview in January 2022 and he is the co-host of Streets & Scholars podcast.
