Mad Swan Bloods Brief History:The Swans are believed to have been started by Elvis, aka Dead Arm Elvis around 1973. He was eventually killed at Manchester Park several years later but his legend is well known. The Swans were first known as the 77 Main Street Swans in the early 1970s before they were known as Bloods and they were once cool with the Main Street Crips in the area. Before the Swans were established in this area, the Castle Crips were known in this area. Over the years, the neighborhood has had four sub sets; 77th Street, 79th Street, 80th Street, and 84th Street. Most current members claim either 80 or 84. Although Pee Wee from 80 Swan is currently on death row awaiting execution, some members of the Swams have been actively involved with trying to establish peace among different neighborhoods. These members have formed an organization called Unity T.W.O Inc., a gang intervention organization aimed at preventing gang violence in the community.
