Eastside 87 Kitchen Crip Gang (KCG) is a predominately African-American street gang located in Florence, a section of unincorporated Los Angeles County adjacent to South Los Angeles. Their territory is located from Central (west) to Mary (east) from Manchester (north) to Florence (south) on the eastside of South Los Angeles. Prior to the formation of this gang, the Avenues, led by Craig Monson were active in this community from 1966 to 1971.
The name of the gang, comes from a store that was once located at 8608 South Central Avenue, called Kitchen Liquor, between Florence & 87th Streets and an early hang-out for its original members during the early 1970s.
Leonard Hall Sr. is considered one of the founders of the Kitchens.
