    It’s fed up that this brotha is back in the pen !!! I read his book at least three times, and I remember hearing about “Monster” Kody back in the 80’s, and I’m from N.Y.!!!! So you know that’s a real Ni66ah !!!! I can’t wait until his life story hit’s the big screen!!!!

      The only thing real about this guy is his criminal history. I’ve read his book and besides having to pick apart the BS that this guy spews, it is a all too familiar story of how a guilty as hell person protests his jail sentence and tries to make people believe it’s not his fault he ked people and he shouldn’t be in prison. The only “fed up” thing about this “brotha” being in the pen is that eventually he will get released into society again only to continue his cycle of commit crime, get caught, go to jail, get released.

          A lot of the book was written by his white editor, based on interviews with Kody. It’s got a lot of exaggerations in it.

          Anyway, the guy is a crack head. His own kids don’t even want to see him and his wife fears him. He’s a loser.

          He’s also REALLY SHORT. Like under 5’8″.

          If you lookmup the number of 60s shot or ked in the period the book covers, Kody would’ve had to be the only ETG shooting 60s and missing most of the time. It’s just simple math and researchable facts; Kody Scott is a criminal and probably a ker but the book HUGELY exaggaerrates his role in the ETGs in the 80s.

          Lol! His kids express their contempt for him openly in the “American Gangsta” episode about him. That’s a pretty screwsed up show to begin with, glamorizing kers as it does, by the way. There’s usually only one or two obligatory lines per episode disavowing violence; mostly it is essentially “Behind The Music” for kers.

    I also read Monster as part of a Sociology class for Criminology. It was well-written, somewhat pretentious and self-serving. Why you brothers are k-ingg each other is beyond me, except out of jealousy for making a name for yourselves. Here’s an idea, go to school and make something of yourselves. k-ingg each other is a futile game of last-man-standing. Is that what you really want in your lives? The only way to realize the American Dream is to put some effort in to school, work, save money – not k people for what you want. You are doing the crooked police a favor by k-ingg yourselves off. Do you want to do them favors? I think not. You were not born to be prison statistics. Find your passion (outside of k-ingg one another off) and the world will hear your story. I find it hard to get past the mass-murdering that Kody and others (you know who you are) have committed. But at least, he’s put his thoughts in the written word so those of us who are want to see changes made in social class structures.

    I read Monster’s book. About midway through the book I thought Monster was a super hero or crime fighter or somethin’. ish, he was like the punisher or somethin’ just goin’ around shootin’ people, go back home and fall asleep. They need to make a comic book bout this Ni66ah. marvel should produce it…call it the Monster series. Make a movie called Monster vs Punisher. Or Monster Vs Predator. Who wins?? Based off what I read, I’ll put my money on Monster.

    He was supposed to have been released in August of this year (2012), but I see no evidence of that. If he maxedbout he’d be in until 2014.

    It’s hard to know what to believe about Kody. He was definitely ETG, but the book is also fullmod exaggerations and lies. It doesn’t match up with police and hospital reports from the time, and he damn sure isn’t d#$k Bass’ son (his Mom would’ve sued for child support). I seriously doubt he was Ray Charles’ godson also. Why no pictures to prove it?

    If all the shootings he claims to have some in the book actually happenned, he’d have to be the worst shot on history, because there would’ve have to have been many more 60s ked than there were. And it’s suspicious that there is virtually no references to banging with Bloods in the book.

    He didn’t get a book deal because he was such a big shot, he’s a bigshot because he got a book deal. He took advantage of the media interest in LA gangs at the time and was one of the very few Crips smart enough to spin a good yarn.

    Gangsta? Certainly. The Superstar OG he makes himseld out to be? Hell no. Word is L’il Monsta was the bigger G of the two.

    Still, aside from that wacky ass “New Afrikan” bullish, he wote a great book (with a lot of help from his editor of course; you can tell what parts of the book where written by him and which parts were written by is middle aged white editos at Atlantic).

      Pretty much. He was never even convicted of murder, and for a guy who is supposedly such a prolific murderer, you’d think there would be some evidence suggesting that this is actually true. The biggest problem is that there’s not one single person from that era and location who has come forward to corroborate any of his story.

      The book doesn’t even read like he’s searching for redemption for his past crimes. It reads more like he is glorifying a sad, pathetic life style perpetuated by poverty and ignorance. Moreover, by the end of the book, for anyone whose not a complete halfwit, you can tell he didn’t learn a fing thing. All he did was trade one gang for another with a new name and uniform. There was no grand epiphany that drew him out of a lfie of crime – which is obvious because the dipish can’t even stay out of prison for more than five minutes. Oh and his description of his crime that got him jailed for the “final” time at the end of his book is a complete lie. The guy wasn’t a drug dealer, he wasn’t even a police informant, and WORSE, Scott didn’t even commit the crime himself. He had some 18 year old kid with him who himself had been charged with distribution of crack only weeks before hand. The man is full of ish. Bullish.

      Scott is just a racist whose angry because he grew up poor and destitute and faced a difficult life in a neighborhood stricken by crime. This is somehow the establishments fault. More, it’s the establishments fault that he was punished for committing crimes…? Like, I don’t even understand how anyone could buy into the baloney. Am I supposed to feel some kind of sympathy or empathy for a guy whining about being sent to prison for committing violent crimes? I mean, what the f?

      Oh so sorry your life is so hard… Well maybe if you didn’t go around robbing and k-ingg people, perpetuating the same idiotic lifestyle that’s been plaguing neighborhoods like his for decades his life wouldn’t have been so fing bad.

      M.L. The book Do or live was written about crips and bloods years before Monster wrote his book . In it he was described as a living gang legend and the only individual that every gang member interviewed, crip or blood, had heard of. Clearly he had a massive reputation in L.A long before his book came out and was one of, if not the most notorious bangers in the city.

        I never said I didn’t believe he was a well established ETG. But that doesn’t change the fact that his book is full of readily confirmable lies and exaggerations (starting with a cover showing his completely unscarred torso which was supposedly riddled with bullets).

        He presumably was shot, because his brother apparently committed murder to avenge it. But how bad was he actually hurt? Clearly his torso wasn’t shot up as his book claims. The hospital disputes his account of his treatment there.

        Also, just because he’s talked about in “Do or live” doesn’t mean his bio isn’t exaggerated. “Do or live” hardly amount to a rigorous scientific study.

        yeah, he’s written ONE other thing. it was a TERRIBLE novel that read like it was written by a 12 year old. Which I can attest to because I unfortunately own a copy of this two flush cornlog of a “book”. It’s quite apparent he had more than a bit of help writing his “biography”.

      As a followup here, it seems ‘Monster’ was indeed released back in August; there’s an hour long interview of him on YouTube, which is surprisingly boring (mostly wacky Marxist babble).

      Another rather obvious piece of evidence I haven’t mentioned earlier that a lot of “Monster” (the book) is exaggerated and made up is the fact that on the cover of the book (as well as other photos from ghe same session, which are online) he proudly shows off his (at the time) quite muscular physique. He’s shirtless and you get a good look at his torso. This man clearly was never shot multiple times in the stomach, as his bio claims. That kind of injury would leave him scarred for life, and there would’ve been scar tissue all over his gut.

      Also, that scene in the book when he’s in the hospital, where he descibes the older gangsters trying to sneak into his room to get him, is laughably implausible (not to mention rather obviously inspired by a scene in “The Godfather”).

      It’d be interesting to know what his real story is. Obviously, he was a bonafides, high ranking ETG. I have no doubt he’s ked people and been shot at. But at the same time, there’s no way the incidents described in the book aren’t largely exaggerated and in some cases just made up. If you take Kody at his word, he’s have to be personally responsible for most of the homicides that took place in LA county in the late 70s through circa 1990. In his book, it seems the guy can’t go for a trip to the local grocery store without k-ingg a few people on the side.

      His whole narrative is very confused. He portrays himself as being horribly oppressed, yet here is a guy who has been openly bragging about having committed numerous murders for years (in fact, the only ‘honest’ money he’s ever made he’s made bragging about crimes which, if true, would justify his being incarcerated for multiple life terms), yet has never been given a double digit prison term and has been paroled numerous times. The facts just don’t square with the image of the Oppressive Machine he portrays the US as. This dude would have been executed a long time ago in many countries. Here he is repeatedly paroled, even though he brags openly of capital murders.

      Even the hagiographic “American Gangsta” doc on him couldn’t manage to conceal the fact that his family (ex-wife and kids) want nothing to do with him. Word is he’s a wife-and-kid-beating crackhead. Too bad, because he clearly is intelligent. Classic case of wasted potential here.
