Westside MansField Gangster Crips [MFGC] are a predominately African-American street gang located in the West section of Los Angeles. They formed around 1981 as the MansField Hustlers (MFH) taking the identity from the street Mansfield Avenue. The crew was formed by Glenn “Coco” Martell and Jederick “Jay Rock” Bond as they were both students at John Burroughs Junior High School. Initially they wanted to gain membership into the PlayBoy Gangster Crips, but they were told to establish their own group first.
From the beginning the MFHs where establishing themselves as money makers, also referring to
the initials as Money, Fila and Hoes, with Fila being the primary athletic apparel and status symbol for African-American teens during the 1980s.
By 1988 they dropped the “Hustler” from their name and took on the “Gangster Crip” identity which was influenced by their West LA counterparts, namely the PlayBoy Gangster Crips and the Marvin Gangster Crips.
Deceased members
- Roderick “Buc / Dolla” Burton, 21, (November 25, 1987 – May 18, 2009), shot & killed by Aubrey Berry at Beverly Center garage.
- Chipper ( – May 2013) – shot and killed in afterhours club on Normandie and 35th
- Charles “Chucky” Patterson, 18 (August 11, 1966 – Sept. 27 1984) stabbed to death at corner of Olympic & La Brea near Winchels Donuts. Chuck is the first Mansfield to be killed and they were Hustlers then.
- Ronnie “Looney” Barron ( – 2010), shot by Hispanic tagger on Pico near La Brea.
