Brief History:This neighborhood has been around since about 1976. Some of the main members from this neighborhood include Rock, Hawk, Warlock, Sly, Sandman, Fat Dog, Lil Hawk, Lil Rock, Devil, Bootsy, Tyrone, Weather Man and Shiphead.
In the 1995 book Uprising: Crips and Bloods, this neighborhood is discussed from page 233-254. Also Jay Capone, a member from this neighborhood appeared on BET's Oh Drama discussing his experiences growing up in Shot Gun and he filmed a documentary regarding those experiences.
The SGCs are divided into two mains clicks, The Nine, 139th and The Duces, 132nd Street in the City of Gardena, a suburban City 2 miles south of Los Angeles just south of the 105 Century Freeway.
They are policed the by Gardena Police Department, but the Harbor division of the Los Angeles Police Department is familiar with the gang because they police the "strip" between Vermont Avenue and Figueroa. Rowley Park is an area well known in this community
and they have a territory that goes from Crenshaw Blvd (west) to Western (east) and from El Segundo (north) to Rosecrans (south). Although the map below shows the eastern boundary as Vermont Avenue, Western Avenue may be more appropriate.
