African-American former gang member talks about life in LA Latino street gang

STREETGANGS.COM | January 29, 2016

Northeast Los Angeles – Wayne Turner grew up in the Aliso Village housing projects and joined the Primera Flats street gang when he was ten years old. Although he is a black American it was not uncommon for blacks to join the predominately Latino street gang during the 1960s and 1970s.

Today Wayne Turner is an Evangelist of “Becoming Kingdom Ready” Outreach Ministry and also runs a gang intervention organization in Northeast Los Angeles.
