LAPD tries to quell anti Zimmerman protests in South Los Angeles

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

July 19, 2013After George Zimmerman was acquitted on July 13, 2013, of both 2nd degree murder and manslaughter in Sanford, Florida, in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, 17, protestors across the country took to the streets protesting the verdict of an all female jury. Five of the six women jurors were white and many people were critical of their verdict.

For several days residents of Los Angeles took to the streets in the West Adams and Leimert Park sections of South Los Angeles. Demonstrations were mostly peaceful, but several protestors were arrested on minor offenses.

Main stream media is playing up “violent clashes” between police and protesters but very few people were arrested and there have been no reports of injured police reporters.

Black residents and countless courtroom spectators stated that race played a central role in why Travon Martin was profiled by George Zimmerman, but the trial itself was silent on the role of race and the denial of how race played a role was the catalyst for the anger that many people felt.

Trayvon Martin was a thug, his momma couldn’t handle him and it too late for the dad to do anything. Teach guys to stop trying to be thugs. You will end up dead.

If you don’t even have the respect to call black people by any other name then an insulting one, you should not talk about thugs. People like you almost make me ashamed to be white.
I love America but, f#@$king hell, there are still a lot of ignorant rednecks about over there ! What’s your problem with people who are black ? They did not even choose to be in your country, you imported them without them wanting to come. And after that you kept them from having a fair chance to make something of themselves. I don’t see why you should hate them. They have had a very bad deal, and continue to do so.

      Greetings from Den Haag, Holland.
