Teen dies 2-days after being shot in car-to-car shooting on Crenshaw
Bijan Michael Shoushtari, 18, died two days after he was shot Saturday, August 3, on Crenshaw & Vernon near Leimert Park in a car-to-car shooting.
Shoushtari and two other people were traveling northbound on Crenshaw Boulevard in a 1973 yellow Buick Electra with white wall tires shortly after midnight when a light-colored, midsize vehicle drove along the passenger side where Shoustari. As the car pulled up, an occupant fired several shots into the Buick striking Shoustari multiple times.
The shooting occurred near Chris Burger on the 4400 block of Crenshaw but the driver continued north 1-block pulling the vehicle over at 4322 Crenshaw Blvd where Shoustari received aid before he was rushed to the hospital.
Shoushtari died at the hospital Monday, August 5, at 5:37 p.m. The two other people in the car were not injured. Police believe that the shooting was gang-related.
