The Long Beach Press-Telegram has reported that Nathaniel D. Hale, 41, better known in the hip-hop community as Nate Dogg, died Tuesday.

The family did not disclose the cause of death, but Hale suffered from two strokes, in 2007 and 2008. The Long Beach born musician, had been undergoing physical therapy for the paralysis on the left side of his body caused by the 2008 stroke.

Hale was first featured on Dr. Dre’s album Chronic in late 1992, but he was most known for producing the hit single Regulate with Warren G, which he earned his first of four Grammy Awards nominations.

Nearly three years ago rumors were circulating that Hale had died of a heart attack, but we believe this report it accurate. The Long Beach Press-Telegram cited a family announcement but the TMZ stories about Hale’s death has been removed.

I rocked his music in the 90’s and there are some songs that stills till with me and when i hear them it takes me back to good times. May he rest in peace and his family also find peace their loss. He was a major contributor to LA’s hip hop culture.
