Lil Wayne’s lawsuit with Quincy Jones III did not show much promise from the outset, but the rapper isn’t giving up. The New Orleans emcee first brought a claim against Quincy Jones III and his production company QD3 Entertainment for the alleged unlicensed use of his music in their documentary “The Carter.” Despite his protest that he should’ve been asked for approval before the film’s release in 2009, the Los Angeles Supreior Court denied Wayne’s request to block distribution. But that did not end the matter, as QD3 launched a countersuit, blaming the bad press for flick’s low turnout at the box office, for which Wayne was ordered to pay over $2.2 million to the producer.

TMZ reports Wayne’s impending action to appeal the jury’s decision within a month. He probably did not gain favor with the judge when he failed to appear in court due to seizures, so that the jury to had to reach a decision based on pre-recorded videotapes which have gained much attention for being wordy but evasive and nonsensical.
