Snoop Dogg Arrested for Prescriptioned Marijuana

It’s not enough to have a prescription for drugs these days to escape punishment. Snoop Dogg was arrested this very weekend at the Sierra Blanca border patrol checkpoint along West Texas for marijuana possession. His tour bus was stopped when a trained dog alerted agents to some illicit substance buried in a waste basket in the back of the vehicle. A red prescription bottle was found with several joints just under half an ounce.

Snoop Dogg was forthright in claiming the small portion of cannabis and cited his legal prescription for the drug, but local law enforcement countered that Texas has a zero tolerance policy and the prescription obtained in California did not apply. TMZ reports that the rapper was issued a citation for misdemeanor drug possession and released, although a conviction could still land him 180 days in jail. Snoop publicly derided the cops for harassing Willie Nelson for a similar situation not two years ago.
