Over a year since the appeal of a 75-year sentence for a double murder in a robbery case, Max B does what he can to stay optimistic behind bars. “I gotta get back to what I do, I can’t even play with it, I got some real plans for the touch down,” said the New York MC to AllHipHop. “I want to do some nice work, I wanna drop a double album and give it to the people for real.”
Max B was convicted of manslaughter, aggravated assault, robbery, kidnapping, possession of a weapon and conspiracy when the planned robbery of David Taylor and Allan Plowden went awry in 2009. Although he was not at the scene of the crime, rather the rapper’s stepbrother Kelvin Leerdam pulled the trigger and ex-girlfriend Gina Conway was an accomplice, Max B was credited as the mastermind behind the plot, which reaped him a sentence of 75 years.
Max B was originally signed to help produce Jim Jones’ albums, but he now keeps himself busy while incarcerated by honing his craft independently and released the album Vigalante Season through AmalgamDigital.com. His full interview with Mike T is posted on AllHipHop’s website.
