Over the weekend, Stanley Kirk Burrell, better known as MC Hammer, was arrested and released, and a little testy about the whole incident.

Santa Rita Police had stopped the MC in Dublin, CA because he was driving in a vehicle with expired registration, according to CNN, and he was not the registered owner. Taking to Twitter, Hammer relayed that a “chubby elvis looking dude was tapping on my car window, I rolled down the window and he said ‘Are you on parole or probation?'”

The implication of racial profiling remains unaddressed. Police spokesman Herb Walters wrote only that Hammer “became very argumentative and refused to answer the officer’s questions.” Any pressing of charges, including obstructing an officer in the performance of his duties, will be determined at court in a month.

Meanwhile currently on bail, Hammer noted, “only thing more dangerous than a scared man with a gun, is a scared man with an agenda, a gun and a badge.” Til then, he has resigned to pblanking on the “teachable moment” of his arrest to his friends.
