Twenty-five people were arrested yesterday in a four-year long investigation of a nationwide drug trafficking ring through Thizz Entertainment. Vallejo Police, with the help of the Drug Enforcement Administration, charged the rappers under the company with conspiracy to distribute chiefly ecstasy, as well as cocaine, heroin, marijuana and codeine cough syrup across the country.

Thizz Entertainment’s founder, Mac Dre, was shot and ki*led in Kansas City, Missouri, in 2004, allegedly by the rival rapper Anthony “Fat Tone” Watkins, who met his own gun death in a construction lot near The Palms in Las Vegas. Mac Minister, of no relation to Mac Dre but also of the Bay Area, was identified by witnesses as responsible for the murder of Fat Tone and sentenced to life in prison.

The DEA reportedly seizing approximately 45,000 MDMA pills, four pounds of crack cocaine, a half-pound of heroin, and $200,000 in suspected drug proceeds; and agents forfeited 230 acres of property valued at $1 million. The criminal activity originated in robbery under the Romper Room Gang and later to finance Thizz Entertainment. The title of “Thizz” is said to be slang for ecstasy, glorified by many rappers who recorded under the label.
