If you haven’t heard of the popular substance Promethazine Codeine, you may know it by the same of Sizzurp, but it won’t be around much longer. To the conjectured regret of certain entertainers, Actavis announced that it will be taking the highly-refined cough syrup off the market.

The company told TMZ, “Given [recent media attention], Actavis has made the bold and unprecedented decision to cease all production and sales of its Promethazine Codeine product.”

The product was regularly touted by such familiar Hip Hop faces as Soulja Boy, Chief Keef and Justin Bieber, and had a reported street value of $800 a pint.

“This attention has glamorized the unlawful and dangerous use of the product, which is contrary to its approved indication,” said a representative of Activis.

When the impending shortage was announced, Soulja Boy posted a picture with six bottles to Instagram: “Soulja got the juice. They say the streets dry. I say you gotta be kiddin me. I serve everybody.”
