Roland Brown sued his former music collaborators Bone Thugs-N-Harmony to the tune of $27 million. The lawsuit was filed last Thursday at Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court in Ohio against Mo Thugs Inc. and each of the group’s members for failure to pay royalties.

According to copies of the case file obtained by AllHipHop, Roland Brown claimed songwriting credit for “Take Your Time” and “Here With Me” by the female group Tre on Mo Thugs Family Scriptures, an album that turned platinum since its release in November 1996. Its success was later carried through the followup Mo Thug: Family Reunion, also surpassing 1 million units in sales.

The lawsuit seeks $24 million dollars in damages and $3 million in mechanical royalties, additionally naming to the list of defendents Sony, Ruthless Records, Relativity, Loud Records, and WMG. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony lost its founding member Krayzie Bone, who left the group, less than a month ago “due to uncontrollable circumstances.”
