50 Cent Foots Funeral Flourishes for Slain Queens Teen

The shooting death of D’aja Robinson two weekends past came as a regretful reminder that gang violence is not a phenomenon that can be isolated, as casualties often pile against innocents outside a feud. Fourteen-year-old Robinson was murdered riding a bus; police believe that she was hit with a bullet meant for another teenage girl. On Friday, 50 Cent took it upon himself to cover the expenses for a horse and carriage at Robinson’s funeral in his hometown of Jamaica, Queens.

“People always try and paint negative images about me I’m the most genuine down to earth person and I didn’t forget where I came from I came through for baby girl by providing a horse and carriage for her,” wrote 50 Cent on Facebook.

The New York Daily News reported that nine rounds were fired into the bus on that fateful day. On Friday, the funeral service drew 2,500 people, including hundreds of teenagers and social media condolences from rappers such as Lil Cease and Juelz Santana.
