Training Day director, Antoine Fuqua, has confirmed rumors of a Tupac Shakur biopic.

The project based on the life of the late rapper has been greenlit by Morgan Creek chairman James G. Robinson, and will begin filming later this year.

In a recent interview with, Antoine Fuqua said the following regarding the project:

“It looks like we’re doing Tupac Shakur’s movie next in September, that’s what I’ve been starting up and working on now,” said Fuqua. “I’ve been working on that for a while with Morgan Creek and Jim Robinson. I just got the greenlight from him and we’re going in September. I’ve just started to prep that.”

“That’s the goal, I want to discover someone new,” said Fuqua, who wants an unknown actor to play the artist known as Makaveli.

“I want to discover a lot of new people if I can. Obviously I’m going to have to put some people in it that you know, just because actors have different skills. I want to go to the streets and find him anywhere he might be in the world.”

Antoine Fuqua is a bad choice, Training Day was not a very good film, look how he made the Jungles seem, thats probably while the entire Southwest Division is over there now.

They need to wait another 5 or 10 years, and not rush out this product because Fuqua is not a good director, look at the last movie he made with Wesley Snipes.

He is too small for this type of movie, your talking about a character thats like Che Guevre, and James Dean wrap in one package. And you get Fuqua naw, you need John Singleton, Spike Lee for this one.

Too much involved Black Panthers, Death Row, Thug Life, Prison, Court Cases, Albums, Jade Pickette/Vivca Foxx/Quincey Jones daughters/Janet Jackson, etc….

    Hope its not like Biggie’s
