Snoop Dogg banned by local town mayor and unable to attend concert.

Snoop Dogg is banned by the local town Mayor of the city of Hague in the Netherlands from preforming or attending a Dutch Music Festival.

A statement was issued by city officials, “Snoop Dogg will not perform at Parkpop, in order to preserve the free open and friendly nature of Parkpop.”

Snoop Dogg’s rep said in a statement, “Snoop Dogg is astonished by the decision of the Mayor of The Hague to not allow him to perform at the free festival, Parkpop.” A spokesman for the festival, Marit Noorlander, echoed Snoops sentiments, “We are very, very disappointed.”

The Parkpop festival is a free dutch festival held annually on the last Sunday of June. Each year approximately 350,000 people visit the festival.

Fans are already expressing their disappointment on social websites.

This is not the first time Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus, has been denied access to another country. In 2006, he was denied entry into the U.K. after being arrested during an angry dispute at London’s Heathrow Airport. He was labeled as a threat, when Border officers citing his prior firearms and drug use offenses. However, Snoop challenged the ruling in court and won. Now he will be allowed to headline the legendary Glastonbury festival this summer. Tickets for Glastonbury 2010 are already completely sold out.
