Hip-Hop star Rick Ross has weighed in on a $10 million dollar lawsuit filed by Freeway Ricky Ross on June 18th in Federal Court.

Former Los Angeles drug kingpin Freeway Ricky is seeking $10 million from rapper Rick Ross, Jay-Z, Def Jam and Island Music Group.

Freeway Ricky claims the defendants stole his image and likeness and have made millions in profits at his expense.

“We just gonna let the people deal with that,” rapper Rick Ross told AllHipHop.com in an exclusive interview. “It’s like owning a restaurant, your gonna have a few slip and falls. You get lawsuits, you deal with them, and get them out your way…sometimes you lose.”

As for the future, Rick Ross is planning to release his album Teflon Don as scheduled, despite Freeway Ricky’s pending request to have the album’s July release date blocked, until the outcome of the lawsuit.

Rapper Rick Ross also denied that he was changing his name to “Ricky Rozay,” a new moniker that the rapper has been using, most notably during a high profile appearance during the 2010 BET Awards.

Freeway Ricky, who was released from prison in 2009 after twenty years on cocaine trafficking charges, has broken his silence on the lawsuit during an interview with Fox’s Channel 11 News in Los Angeles.

“So for me, it just be funny when I hear a n*gga use somebody that I actually know’s name and it comes to [known] for one, [Rick Ross] was a cop or a C.O., police, worker, whatever. Now you’re confusing people with this picture you painted. That’s like you painting a picture and me takin’ credit for it.

“I did twenty years in prison and beau coups of money went into making this name and what it is today. I feel it was mine, I own it and I want it back. “It’s mine. Its like if somebody stole your car, even though they painted it and put wheels on it that they like, it’s still your car.

According to Freeway Ricky, he spoke with Rick Ross about the lawsuit last week and Ross was confident that he could win, although he was open to settling the lawsuit.

Freeway Ricky alleged declined to settle and is pursuing the lawsuit. In addition to the $10 million dollars, Freeway Ricky is seeking half of the rapper’s royalties.

You know all this about being a CO
As a former inmate, on some real sh*%, guys use to be happy to see black COs
I mean guyz sitting hear fronting but blacks prefer black COs over Hispanic and White COs
Inmates even complain over the fact of there being no black COs
Know there mad this dude work as a CO and now rapping about selling dope

But when you was in jail or prison you wish there was black COs

the struggle for COs not to all be white and racist is a struggle on its own, and seperate from the rapper ricky ross takin a real hustler’s name (and his beard style) when he was in fact a CO at one point and makin millions is dead wrong. everybody love a cool CO inside, but if that CO were to later perpatrate as if he the biggest hustler in the country everyone would call it phoney cuz it is. kingpin don’t becomes COs even if they are hustlin inside the pen, that’s a doja mission.

But lookie here, ni66as, Snoop Dogg, is he the real Snoopy? No, ni66a, he just took the name probably cause someone said he looked like a dog. How do YOU know Rapper Ross aint paying homage to the Freeway Ross, out of respect, and making some money in the meantime. I mean everybody knows rapper Ross aint the Freeway Ross, so you can’t say he faking if everyone knows. Like the band Kiss when they put on mask and rock to make money, rapper Ross the same way, you dig?
