After serving seven-and-a-half years in prison for a muddled case charged with second degree attempted murder of a S.W.A.T. team officer, former Hot Boys member Turk will soon be allowed to come home. The whole situation stemming from a raid turned shootout in 2004 has still left a confusing story.

The Memphis, Tennessee S.W.A.T. team invaded an apartment looking for heroin and weapons and were met with gunfire, from which three bullets injured deputy Chris Harris. Conflicting reports led to the blame of Tab “Turk” Virgil for discharging some of those shots from hiding in a closet. His negotiation of a “best interest plea,” which encompasses some admission of guilt while disputing the details, was withdrawn when the “effects” of the admission unfolded to be more complicated than he originally understood they would be.

Virgil acknowledged that he had a long history of issues with drugs but never handled guns and is looking forward to being productive out of prison again. AllHipHop reports that he is planning to release a new book and shopping a screenplay he wrote while incarcerated. He will be rejoining society on October 12.
