2Pac and Notorious B.I.G. were the figureheads of an eastcoast-westcoast hip-hop rivalry until it escalated into both rappers being murdered less than a year apart. Their proteges, Outlawz and Junior M.A.F.I.A. respectively, were plugged into the void of their animosity by fans from both sides, but it looks like their feud may finally be over with a new collaboration spearheaded by Kay Slay.

DJ Kay Slay commented to AllHipHop, “They [Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G.] are two of the most high profile artists of the 1990’s and both of them pblanked and no one adopted their crews.” Outlawz’s Lil’ Cease and Junior M.A.F.I.A.’s Young Noble had been talking to each other secretly for years, putting away their grievances from the shared experience of being on the scene when their mentors were shot.

15 years after the two giants of hip-hop pblanked away, with Kay Slay’s urging on the release of his new album, Lil’ Cease and Young Noble came together to produce the track “Bury the Hatchet.” All proceeds from the song will go to Tupac Shakur and Christopher Wallace’s foundations.
