Obama Still Hip By Minaj

Despite President Obama’s self-deferential proclamation that at a certain point, “your kids get old enough where they’re just hipper than you are”–specifically when asked to comment about Hip-Hop–he seems quite savvy to connecting with its luminaries.
When Nicki Minaj’s lyric “I’m a Republican, voting for Mitt Romney / You lazy bitches is fuckin’ up the economy” caused a stir for seeming to endorse Obama’s opponent, the President offered the possibility that she was just following her penchant to “play different characters.” It turns out Ms. Minaj is not even registered to vote, but she expressed her excitement to be directly addressed by “the 1st black President of the United States.” The Harajuku emcee tweeted, ”Ha! Thank you for understanding my creative humor & sarcasm Mr. President, the smart ones always do… *sends love & support* @BarackObama.”
POTUS also has the support of the star couple Jay-Z and Beyonce, who are hosting an intimate fundraiser with just 100 guests who are shelling out $40,000 per head to pose for a picture with the hip President. Obama is counting on such popular endorsements for his reelection campaign as it comes to the polls this November.
