CeeLo Green can’t seem to get a break with his persona life in the media. The singer, born Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, found himself at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center on Monday answering to accusations of drugging a woman at a Los Angeles restaurant last year.

Prosecutors declined to file a rape count because of insufficient evidence but alleged that CeeLo had “furnished a controlled substance,” or slipped ecstasy to a woman at dinner, to which he pleaded not guilty. CeeLo’s attorney Blair Berk wrote that any sexual contact was consensual, reports the Associated Press.

CeeLo is known for his Grammy-winning hit “Forget You” and appearing as a judge on the vocal competition reality TV show “The Voice.” The show’s network NBC did not comment on the charge, so his job seems secure for the time being. A felony conviction could land him four years behind bars.
