Carson is a city in LA County about 13 miles south of downtown Los Angeles. Carson is the youngest municipality within the South Bay region. The city has a total area of 19 sq miles. It is surrounded by Compton, Long Beach, and Wilmington. Carson is the site of California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH). The student population is particularly comprised of African American students. The school was established in the wake of the 1965 Watts riots as a response to community outcry over the lack of higher education for black residents in the south suburbs of Los Angeles. Carson is also home to the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team.
As of the 2009 census, Carson had a total population of 92,255. Carson has one of the most equally diverse populations for areas within Los Angeles. 37.1% of Carson residents are Hispanic, 27.8% of residents are White, 25.9% are Black or African American, and 24.2% are Asian.
33.1% of residents are foreign born. 50.9% speak a language other than English in the home. The percentage of residents who are educated are very similar with that of the national average. 79.3% have a high school degree or higher and 25% have a bachelor’s degree or higher. 4.8% of families and 6.7% of individuals are below the poverty line, which is significantly lower than the national average.

Scott Park is not even as active as they should be but the few I know from there have heart. I have witnessed to Scott Park member in particular who have chased Mexicans, from the taggers to the sets under the Carson 13 umbrella.
