El Hoyo MaraVilla [HMV] is a predominately Hispanic-American street gang located in unincorporated East Los Angeles. It is among the oldest gang in East LA, forming around the late 1920s or early 1930s, and the first of many other Maravilla gangs to follow.
The community of East LA where HMV formed was known by the name of Maravilla and Belvedere.

- Jose “Sluggo” Pineda, 56 (Nov. 30, 1931 – Oct. 15, 1988), Pineda was a Mexican Mafia member who was severely bludgened to death by Raymond “Huero Shy” Shyrock and another accomplice under the order of incarcerated Mexican Mafia member Benjamin “Topo” Peters, for a perceived disrespect of Peters’ mother by Pineda. His body was found in Big Hazard neighborhood.
- James “Sonny” Peña, 27 (Feb. 21, 1940 – Feb. 4, 1968), was stabbed and killed in San Quentin prison by Mexican Mafia member Robert “Robot” Salas who was originally from Big Hazard
