    My family is from E.L.A. First and Sunol Drive since the 30′s. I am Irish Mexican born and raised in El Hoyo Maravilla. Thank God for baseball and football at Obregon Park because it saved my life, not to mention my coach was Mickey Lagunas, father of the badest mother f—en sons from El Hoyo. Don’t want to give names, but those of you from The Hole know what Im saying. I need to say thank you to the El Hoyo Mara midgets, chicos and veteranos for taking care of me and my carnal all those years growing up in our barrio. Dont know if I should say that I became a chota with the CHP for 30 years. The barrio helped me make it through. I encountered several homies on the frwy and took care of them, con todo respecto, El Hoyo style. I must say, I still brag to my fellow chotas of where I’m from and not ashamed of it. It made me who I am. Thanks to the Lord, I have made myself successful and living a blessed life. I went to church at Our Lady Of Guadalupe on 3rd street just like most El Hoyo children and heard service in latin. We did not know latin so we tried to understand the word of the lord. Unfortunately, our neighborhood was too violent to see the lords work. At the age of 8 I saw 7 murders. My carnal was 6. My father, who is Irish, grew up in the same barrio. My grandpa grew up in the same barrio since 1912. I still claim my barrio because it made me who I am. I am one dude you dont want to f— with.

      I remember the lagunas family, they were the core of HMV at that time. correction on the churches though, Our Lady of Lourdes is on 3rd st, Our Lady of Guadalupe is on Hazard & Hammel.
