On Wednesday, Richard Heath of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office testified in the Stephanie Lazarus murder trial. He told the jury that he had been working for the County for 39 years and that he worked in the evidence room for eight years as a evidence custodian.

Heath told the jury that he would receive evidence from crime scenes and at times release that evidence to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Defense attorney Mark Overland showed Heath the evidence log for the items collected at Sherri Rasmussen’s home after she was killed. Next to the entry, “bite swab mark,” Heath told the jury that according to the log it was never released. Heath did testify that he released other items, including hair kits and finger print card.
