There have been many times on the reality show “To Catch A Predator,” when Chris Hansen, the host, would wonder on air, exactly what the men who were caught in his undercover sex-stings for NBC’s Dateline were thinking when they found out they had been secretly recorded. Hanson, 52, who lives in Connecticut with his wife and 2 sons, no longer has to wonder because last weekend, he himself, was allegedly caught on camera with a woman he was having an affair with.
Kristyn Caddell, 30, is a journalist from Florida, was caught on camera with Hansen. Caddell, has also worked as a reporter in Tennessee, Texas, California, and Florida. Caddell has supposedly known Hansen since March, where they met at a party in Palm Beach. The cameras of an undercover sting, set up by The National Enquirer captured the two having dining at a Ritz-Carlton Hotel. After dinner, Hansen reportedly spent the night at Caddell’s apartment.
Hansen made a name for himself with in-depth investigations that were mainly dedicated to the seedier side of life. His career started in Detroit, where one of his first investigations involved the Chamber Brothers’ narcotic ring, which during the 1980’s stretched from Michigan to Alabama. In 2004, he began to film the “To Catch a Predator” series, working extensively with Perverted Justice, an online group that set up and filmed men who had contacted under-aged girls online for sexual liaisons. The group also worked with Law Enforcement so that the alleged child molesters are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The show has been a success and Hansen has traveled to different states to film several episodes.
If you have ever seen the show, Hansen tries, but fails, to hide the glee in his eyes when the trap is sprung and he walks out of his hiding spot to confront the men. One would think that Hansen would have been more careful in public or even behind closed doors, with his background in undercover sting operations.
