My lifestyle has been and still is to (some extent) connected to the street lifestyle!
Although I’m a bit older (35 yrs), I’m now on a path of trying to understand at what point the lifestyle took us from being proud of what were relating to our history, culture! To this life of self destruction. I’ve been incarcerated since 1988 and I made that transition from street gang to prison gang. I have come to the realization that I had become my own worst enemy. I’m amazed and sadden at the level of violence that has occurred over the years years.
I honestly feel that men like myself who have walked this path have a responsibility!! A responsibility to do whatever we can to reach these "Chavalones" with common sense. We need to make them understand that the choices we make today stay with us for the rest of our lives.
