Manchester High School Principal Placed On Leave

MANCHESTER — The principal of Manchester High School has been placed on leave and school officials are seeking an interim replacement, the superintendent announced Friday.

Principal Kevin O’Donnell “will be on leave effective Friday,” Superintendent Kathleen Ouellette wrote in a letter to the school community, adding that she would be leading daily operations at the school until an acting principal could be found.

blankistant Superintendent Patricia Brooks said O’Donnell, who makes $138,778 a year, is on paid leave and “probably won’t return.” Administrators will be looking both inside and outside the school district for an acting principal, Brooks said.

Reached at his Manchester home Friday, O’Donnell said, “I’m disappointed with the action of the board. My primary concern was and is to the students of Manchester. I continue to be proud of the accomplishments of our students and our high school community.”
