Officer-involved shooting occurred in Whittier; both officers injured

UPDATE: One officer expired and the other other is in stable condition. Officer Keith Boyer, of the Whittier Police Department, was fatally shot after responding to traffic stop.

whittier shootingTwo Whittier police officers and a suspect were injured in an officer-involved shooting in Whittier Monday morning.

The shooting occurred around 8 a.m. Monday in the area of Mar Vista Street and Colima Road, according to Whittier police Officer John Scoggins.

Los Angeles County Fire Dispatch Supervisor Art Marrujo said paramedics treated two police officers and one other individual for gunshot wounds. The two officers were transported to UCI Medical Center while the suspect was taken to LA County-USC Medical Center, Whittier Police Chief Jeff Piper said.

Their conditions were not known.

Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau are blankisting in the investigation.

No further information was immediately available.

    Mejia is the name of the shooter, and he was not released early from jail because of AB109. Those are lies.
