CHICAGO – A pair of alleged gang members are charged today with a shooting that injured a young mother who got caught in the line of fire while standing at a bus stop holding her baby.

Jeremiah Moore, 20, and Dontaneous Salley, 22, are each charged with one count of aggravated battery with a firearm.

Chicago police say Moore and Salley were fighting with rival gang members on the 1100 block of West Wilson at 4:20 Thursday afternoon.

They pulled out guns and began shooting down the street. They missed their intended targets but one of the bullets did hit an innocent bystander, the 21-year-old woman holding her baby.

The woman was hit in the leg. She was treated for her wound and has been released from the hospital. The baby was not hurt.

Moore lives on the 800 block of West Sunnyside and Salley is from the 4400 block of North Racine.
