In an effort to stem violence attributed to the more 200 members of the Columbus Street gang, City Attorney Carmen Trutanich is seeking a third gang injunction in the Mission Area of the San Fernando Valley.

“This gang has used intimidation, violence and fear in holding a community hostage,” Trutanich said at a City Hall news conference on Thursday. “We will continue our fight to bring safety and security to this neighborhood”

Trutanich, who is running for re-election in next Tuesday’s election, said the injunction would cover a 2.7 square mile bounded by Plummer Street, Sepulveda Boulevard, Saticoy Street and Woodman Avenue. A court hearing on the injunction is scheduled for March 15.

The injunction identifies 18 members of the gang who will be prohibited from blankociating with one another, loitering in the area and other activities.
