Santa Ana gang fight sends 3 to hospital

SANTA ANA – Three males suffered knife wounds and were sent to a hospital following a gang fight in Santa Ana early Saturday morning, authorities said.

More than a dozen officers responded to the fight just after midnight in the 700 block of West Central Avenue, said Police Cmdr. Steve Colon. Upon arrival, police found three had been stabbed in the upper torso. Others fled the scene, which was about a block away from Saddleback High School.

The department’s gang unit does not yet not know which gangs were involved, Colon said.

A 15-year-old boy, is in life-threatening condition, he said. The other two, who are in stable condition, are 22 and 19.

Police are not releasing the victims’ identities.
