Gang sweep nets 14 arrests

Multi-agency operation recovers suspected stolen property, guns

Fourteen people — including three juveniles — were arrested over the weekend during a gang sweep, with several area law-enforcement agencies involved.

Officers involved in the sweep — running from Friday afternoon to early Saturday morning — included members of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department’s gang-violence suppression units, the Multiagency Gang Enforcement Team, Visalia, Tulare, Delano police departments, State Parole and Tulare County probation officers.

During the sweep, officers recovered suspected stolen property, two handguns and suspected methamphetamine and cocaine, Tulare County Sheriff’s Department deputies reported.

All suspects were booked into the Tulare County Main Jail or the Juvenile Detention Facility.

Arranged according to current residence, suspects included:
Goshen

Male, 16, possession of a controlled substance.

Elizabeth Sanchez, 28, being under the influence of a controlled substance.

David Salazar, 22, being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Juan Reyes, 19, being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Desi Escarsega, 27, possession of a controlled substance for sale, being under the influence of a controlled substance and outstanding warrant.

Korina Crisanto, 27, possession of a controlled substance for sale.

Orange Cove

Hector Barr, 31, violation of parole and two felony warrants.

Earlimart

Male, 16, possession of stolen property and participation in a criminal street gang.

Male, 16, possession of stolen property, receiving stolen property and participation in a criminal street gang.

Maria Monje, 38, misdemeanor warrant.

Ivanhoe

Ruben Gutierrez, 38, two misdemeanor warrants for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Orosi

Martin Fierro, 27, receiving stolen property and a misdemeanor warrant for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Israel Morales, 18, being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Simon Valverde, 18, being under the influence of a controlled substance.
