Gang detail makes arrests, finds marijuana stash

Porterville police conducted a gang suppression detail throughout the city of Porterville on Friday that resulted in seven arrests and seizure of a stash of marijuana.

At the beginning of the detail, detectives served a search warrant on the 1400 block of North Beverly Street, where they allegedly found approximately 100 grams of processed marijuana, prescription pills and 280 illegally burned DVDs which were reportedly being sold out of the home.

Anthony Flores was booked on suspicion of copyright infringement and possession of a controlled substance for sale.

Detectives also continued an investigation of gang vandalism that had recently occurred at several known gang members’ homes.

A detective was able to identify the vehicle used in the crimes, and identified and arrested a juvenile who is believed to the responsible.

The juvenile was identified as a northern gang member.

The male juvenile was booked at Juvenile Detention Facility on suspicion of felony vandalism, conspiracy and participation in a criminal street gang.

The gang enforcement action resulted in 18 field interviews, two arrest warrants served, seven felony arrests, two parole violations, one probation search, one traffic citation and the seizure of approximately 100 grams of marijuana.
