Gangsters in Pajaro had their guns blazing Friday evening.
Two gang shootings in an hour had Watsonville police and Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies scrambling to locate the assailants and keep a lid on the violence that sent a Watsonville man to the hospital.
A Watsonville police officer arrested one boy, a 14-year-old Watsonville resident, about an hour after the second shooting, police reported.
The violence erupted around 5:30 p.m. when gang members on Gonda Road in Pajaro, in North Monterey County, fired shots across the Pajaro River at rival Watsonville gang members, police said.
Then, around 6:30 p.m., a man was shot at 19 Fremont St. in Pajaro. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
