A Santa Rosa couple suspected of having connections to a white supremacist gang were arrested Tuesday for ramming their car into the vehicle of former associates, Santa Rosa police said.

Michael E. Warren Jr., 37, of Santa Rosa was behind the wheel of a silver Nissan Xterra at about 8 p.m. on April 20 when he pulled up alongside former associates inside a red Toyota Tercel on the Stony Point Road off-ramp of southbound Highway 12, Sgt. Ranier Navarro said.

Warren and his wife, Renee C. Warren, 45, a passenger, yelled gang epithets and racial slurs at the pair, Navarro said. All were caucasian.

“He began to try to force them off the road, intentionally ramming the vehicle,” Navarro said.

The victims, a 28-year-old man and 29-year-old woman, weren’t injured and sped away, Navarro said. The unidentified pair called police from home in Sonoma County.

On Tuesday, gang detectives and SWAT officers searched homes in connection with the assault on the 100 block of Scenic Drive, 1300 block of Slater Street and 2400 block of Joseph Court East, Navarro said.
