High-speed chase nets five arrests in King City
The Californian | May 31, 2011
Five street gang members were arrested Sunday afternoon after leading King City Police on a high-speed chase in a stolen car, police said.
At a little before 6 p.m., a King City Police sergeant attempted to stop a green 2000 Honda Civic for a traffic violation.
Instead of stopping, the car accelerated and led police on a high speed chase.
The chase proceeded down several residential streets and reached speeds of up to 60 mph. The pursuit ended in the 200 block of Rio Vista after the Honda crashed into a curb and both right side tires were flattened.
When the Honda came to a stop in the middle of the roadway, five occupants got out and ran. A police-dog handler warned them to stop running or he would release his dog. All five suspects stopped and were taken into custody.
