Troy Washington was murdered while sitting in his car

homicideTroy Washington, a 36-year-old black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, May 31, in the 800 block of West 56th Street in Vermont-Slauson, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Washington was sitting in a parked white sedan at the north curb of West 56th Street with two others about 4:50 p.m., Los Angeles Police Det. Dave Garrido said.

A dark-colored sedan drove by, and a person in the vehicle shot at the white car, Garrido said. The sedan then continued west on West 56th Street.

After Washington was shot, the driver of the white car drove to South Hoover and West 57th Street, then ran away.
