LONG BEACH – Gang Enforcement detectives are investigating a Sunday night shooting that left a man injured, though he is expected to survive, authorities said Monday.

Long Beach Police Department officers were called to the 1300 block of Lemon Avenue about 11:55 p.m. Sunday after the victim was shot, said Lisa Massacani, an LBPD spokeswoman.

The victim was walking in the area when he was approached by an unknown suspect who opened fire, then fled the area, Massacani said.

The shooting is believed to be gang- related, Massacani said.

There was no suspect description available, she noted.
