Four Men Shot in Long Beach

Mirna Alfonso (Belmont Shore-Naples Patch) | June 26, 2011

A gang-related shooting in Long Beach Sunday led to four men being wounded, though none of them suffered life-threatening injuries, police officials said.

One man managed to drive himself to a local hospital following the shooting, reported at 1:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of Lewis Avenue, according to Nancy Pratt, Long Beach police information officer.

Another man was taken to a hospital by an ambulance and two others were treated at the scene for graze wounds, Pratt said.

Investigators were probing the incident but preliminary reports dismiss a connection with the shooting death of a man on 59th Street in Long Beach late Saturday night.
