FBI-LAPD Task Force Cracks Down on Major East Valley Gang

Craig Clough (Chatsworth Patch) | June 30, 2011

A task force comprised of FBI agents and LAPD officers arrested and charged 14 of 18 individuals today in the northeast San Fernando Valley for their roles in a narcotics distribution network and the illegal sales of firearms.

The announcement was made by André Birotte Jr., United States Attorney in Los Angeles; Steven Martinez, blankistant Director in Charge of the FBI in Los Angeles, and Chief Charlie Beck of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Among those arrested were two North Hollywood men in a case that has its roots in the alleged merger of two notorious Latino street gangs based in nearby Pacoima.

Ten of those charged were taken into custody by task force members during the execution of arrest warrants carried out early this morning, and four of those charged were previously in custody on unrelated charges and four more individuals are being sought be the task force.

“The FBI remains committed to working with LAPD to identify the most violent criminal enterprises in the city of Los Angeles who control neighborhoods by operating drug networks, extorting citizens and committing violent acts to maintain that control,” FBI blankistant Director in Charge, Steve Martinez, said in a press release.

Five federal search warrants and two state search warrants were served this morning, the task force announced, and evidence seized during today’s raids included over $10,000 in cash, three handguns, two shotguns, one M1 rifle, 2 SKS blankault rifles, various ammunition, various gun modification parts, three bags of methamphetamine (unknown weight at this time) and drug paraphernalia.

In addition, the task force said it gained valuable information about multiple extortion schemes and four murders.

  1. Nice and very informative post. Pest control is a key measure that should be taken care in every residential as well as commercial building. Pests, primarily termites attack the wood in such a manner that it is destroyed within and you are never aware of. Indeed very useful post and with the subscription I hope there will be too many. Thanks again for writing such a good stuff.
