SANTA ANA – A man is behind bars accused of shooting to death a 16-year-old boy during a gang-related attack, police said Monday.

Juan Galvan, 19, was arrested Sunday afternoon at his Santa Ana home on suspicion of kil#i*gg Alberto David Miller, Santa Ana police Cmdr. Stephen Colon said.

The shooting was reported at 10:35 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of East Washington Street. Officers found Miller with multiple bullet wounds in the legs and torso. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, Colon said.

Detectives believe Miller was sitting on the front steps of a home when Galvan pblanked by and the two got into an argument about their gang affiliations, Colon said.

“They are in rival gangs,” Colon said.

Galvan is accused of brandishing a handgun and firing multiple shots, Colon said, adding that the handgun has not been recovered.

So far this year, there have been five gang-related homicides in the city.

Anyone with information was asked to call Santa Ana police at 714-245-8648.
