Termination Hearing for Officer Ends, No Ruling

Blake’s attorney said he was not fired during the meeting on Friday.
Officer Blake was suspended without pay after he criticized the police department’s gang unit of using racial slurs against him and alleged they were unfairly targeting and harblanking Latino gangs.
About a dozen people were standing outside the Greensboro Learning Center on Friday in support of Blake.
Blake, who is currently suspended without pay, is one of 39 members of the police department suing the city for discrimination.
In 2009, Blake was accused of blankaulting two women at a private party at the Greensboro Police Club. Blake was later found not guilty. Before his trial, he was fired by Chief Bellamy in July 2009. The decision was later overturned.
